DAY 1: HAVANA, CUBA (today’s itinerary may change based on arrival times)

* Arrive at Jose Marti Airport, Havana, Cuba.  After clearing customs and getting luggage we travel to your “Casa Particular” (We will be staying in private homes – bed and breakfast) to get settled in. Depending on time of day we can have the driver take you to lunch or dinner.
* The next few hours are relaxation time to allow you to settle in to your accommodations.
** Dinner is Included: Los Balcones
After dinner relaxation and cocktails as we gather with locals to share stories about life in Cuba, and its culture.

DAY 2: HAVANA, CUBA

8:30am – Breakfast at your residence. Every morning you will have breakfast at your private homes, a great opportunity for local interaction with the owners of your home.

Today, we tour Havana’s Old Town (La Habana Vieja), which in 1982 was awarded UNESCO Heritage Site status. We will walk through squares surrounded by the impressive baroque and neoclassic-style buildings that have made Havana one of the most architecturally significant cities in the Americas. A stroll through Central Park (El Parque Central) provides a magnificent view of the beautiful surrounding buildings while the large shade trees act as umbrellas to shelter visitors from the sun.

Mojitos at the well known Bodeguita Del Medio- frequently visited by Hemingway.

2:00pm – Lunch is included: La Cervezeria (Havana-newest Brewery)
Along the way, we visit The Cathedral Square and tour the inside of one of the oldest Cathedrals in the Western Hemisphere. This stop is a favorite of all religious denominations because of the building’s history and beauty. Next, we travel down Obispo Street which is one of Havana’s most populous streets. For those who wish to shop, this route is lined with stores from Bernaza Street to Plaza de Armas.

4:00pm – Behind the scenes of the Afro-Cuban Dance school

7:00pm – Cocktails at The Tower-Panoramic view of Havana from above

8:00pm – Dinner is included: La Casona or El Cocinero

DAY 3: HAVANA – TRINIDAD, CUBA

7:00am – Breakfast and early departure to the beautiful city of Trinidad (approx. 4 hours).
We will stop for lunch on the way to Trinidad, in the province of Sancti.

Arrival early afternoon and check in our private homes. The rest of the day is spent with a walking tour of the cobblestone streets of this colonial small town.

8:00pm – Dinner at Taberna La Botijga. After dinner we explore the Casa de Musica (Music House) and other local venues to enjoy the Salsa sounds and dancing of this region.
**La Cueva is an amazing disco for those wanting to extend the evening and dance the night away** (on the guests own)

DAY 4: TRINIDAD – Jucaro Port, CUBA

8:30am – Breakfast at our residence
This day allows us to continue to enjoy the natural beauty and off-the beaten path streets of this community, as well as its magnificent Convent and churches.

Highlights will include:
o See the Valle de los Ingenios (Valley of Sugar Mills) from the beautiful look-out point on our way to the town of Manaca Iznaga.
o A climb to the Manaca Iznaga Tower (for amazing views of the Valley), home of one of the wealthiest men in Cuba as a result of slave trafficking in the 1790’s.

12:00pm – Lunch on the way to drop off at Port Jucaro for a 5pm boarding of Jardines Aggressor II.

  • Round trip airfare from DFW-Cuba-DFW, visa processing and fee (There is an additional fee for Cuban born travelers).  • Ground transportation within Cuba. Saturday morning, after a breakfast buffet, we will travel to Jucaro to board the Jardines Agressor II liveaboard.  By the way, this boat is currently under construction and expected to make her first cruise in March 2018.

The next seven days will be spent diving in the Gardens of the Queen located 60 miles off the coast.  During the week, biologists and Cuban specialists will host discussions and cuba_featured-300x214presentations on the marine environment, conservation and the importance of this magnificent ecosystem.
We will see sharks, turtles, stingrays, eagle rays, wrecks, lobster, and marine alligators.  Click Here
Saturday morning May 12 we will depart Jucaro for our return flight home out of Camaguey.

This legal travel will include:
Round trip airfare from DFW, all meals, 3 night bed and breakfast accommodations in Havana and Trinidad, seven days diving aboard the Jardines Aggressor II, transportation Trinidad to Jucaro, Port Fee of $190, Conservation Fee of $100 and week of Nitrox onboard of $100.

Jardines Aggressor II:  Delux Suite is $3,999 (12 spots).  Plus the above mentioned $390 which is typically paid on board but not in this case for a total of $4,389 or $4,489 with EAN.  Land Portion including DFW round trip air is estimated at $1985.

Deposit is $1,660.  Check made out to Oceans for Youth Foundation.
Deposit for land portion is $650.  Check made out to We B Divin’.
Final Payment is February 1, 2018 est $4,064 .

This trip is through the non profit ‘Oceans for Youth Foundation’ so your checks need to be made directly to them.  Their license from the US government for this ‘people to people’ travel program requires participation in the full program.
